A Little about Red-eared Sliders
Red-eared sliders are the most popular semi-aquatic pet turtles in the United States and worldwide. Red-eared sliders (Trachemys scripta elegans) are known for the unique red patch of skin around the ear. This species is native to the Mississippi River and parts of the southern United States. It is now possible to find Red-eared sliders all over the world since many have been reported as being exported and sold all over and especially East Asia. There are many other semi-aquatic turtle breeds as well, but we have the most experience with Red Eared Sliders.
